A few months back I was contacted by this international young couple who was going to have a winter wedding in Stockholm. In addition to their big wedding day they wanted a photographer joining them. I was not late to say: Yes – I do.

Expat wedding couple
From France and Estonia, they met each other in Paris, lived in London and after that, they choose to move to Sweden to get closer to nature. Good choice there!

We were all three very excited about the snow and above all to make nice portraits! 5 days before the wedding day it was +7 degrees and all the snow from January was gone, but the temperature dropped and it was snowing during one night a few days before the shoot. The ice on the lake was there and the snow, but unfortunately the snow was gone from the trees. However we were happy and the weather is really something we can’t decide over.
Let’s celebrate our winter wedding in Stockholm
After that freezing cold photo shoot in the snow we went to The Stockholm City Hall for the ceremony. However the bride was fine with the cold weather, it might only have been me who was freezing my fingers off.
Whoooo, hooooo! The ring is on and that is the most importantly this day.

The Stockholm City Hall is beautiful with all its photo opportunities. You really can get all kinds of lovely photos no matter the weather. Sun, cloudy, rain, snow everything is fine.
